The station is within walking distance of Woodlands Caravan Park, making it particularly convenient for a day out in Dundee or travelling further afield and we recommend checking ScotRail before travelling for current times and service information.

Facilities include ticket machine, seating, help points, customer information screens, free 17-space car park and sheltered cycle storage. The station is unstaffed and has no toilets or waiting room. There is ramp access to both platforms, although ScotRail classifies accessibility as Category B1.

BUS

Local Bus Services

Carnoustie has good bus connections to Dundee, Broughty Ferry, Monifieth and Arbroath, making it easy to explore the local area using public transport.

From 28 September 2026, Stagecoach's revised network provides up to four buses per hour between Carnoustie and Dundee, using Services 72 and 73.

The bus is particularly useful for visiting Dundee city centre, Broughty Ferry or Arbroath without worrying about parking.

Taxis are useful for shorter journeys around Carnoustie, evenings out, travelling to the railway station with luggage, or reaching attractions that aren't directly served by public transport.

WALKING

Getting Around on Foot

Woodlands is well positioned for exploring Carnoustie on foot.

From the park you can walk into town for shops, cafés, restaurants and other local amenities, while Carnoustie's beach and the famous championship golf courses are also accessible without having to take your vehicle.

Walking is often the easiest option for guests who have arrived by motorhome and would prefer to leave their vehicle on the park.

Leave the Park by the rear gate and walk either across the park straight ahead or down to the left hand side and this will take you to Carnoustie High Street.
